Clayoquot Sound: Past, Present & Future

How do we protect Vancouver Island's last pristine valleys?

Recently, we have learned that Coulson Forest Products had begun clearing roads into one of Clayoquot Sound's pristine valleys with a plan to log. Quick action on the part of a number of environmental organizations has put a stop to this, although this is only temporary.

Come learn how you can be part of a lasting solution to protect the pristine valleys of Clayoquot sound.

Join campaigners from Greenpeace, Wilderness Committee and Forest Ethics for an evening of discussion and action.

5th Annual Wild BC Day Family Fun Campout

Whitecap Camp, in Seton Portage, near Pemberton, BC August 2, 3 & 4th

For the fifth year in a row the Wilderness Committee is inviting all of our friends to come camp with us in an endangered wilderness area. This year we are heading to a forested area of endangered spotted owl forest habitat located near Seton Portage, BC in part of the St'át'imc traditional territory.

Join us for a long weekend with a guided nature hike, swimming in Seton Lake, and learning about different campaigns to save Canada's endangered spotted owls, to protect old-growth forests and help local communities become toxin-free! You'll hear from biologists and activists about the fight to preserve Canada's most endangered bird species – and it's all going on in our wilderness backyard. Learn how you can help too.

You'll be having some big fun, meeting some great like-minded people and doing good in the world – all at the same time!
