In 1995 WCWC and Ahousaht First Nations co-published a report, Preliminary Investigations of Cultural and Recreational Features of Easter Watershed in Ahousaht Territory of Clayoquot Sound revealing the results of their joint expedition into this pristine sockeye salmon drainage: evidence of a rich history of aboriginal use and a wide range of recreation features that could be developed but would be seriously impaired if its natural condition were altered. The Easter Watershed was identified by government in 1993 as a special management area where wilderness recreation would have priority.
